Navepoint 9U Deluxe IT Wallmount Cabinet Enclosure 19-Inch Server Network Rack With Locking Glass Door 16-Inches Deep Black With Shelves
For proper perspective you need to know that I purchased this model in June of 2016!
At this time, I’ve had my Navepint 9U Network Rack for seven (7) years. This is a heavy-duty unit made with quality components. I’ve moved it at least twice inside my house after I assembled it and re-ran the cables each time. If you saw the rack close up, it looks like it was assembled yesterday (except for the dust you may find inside if I moved some of the equipment).
When I initially assembled it, it was slightly out of alignment, then I took out the level and square. Loosened the necessary bolts and then ensured every piece was level and square. Because of this and the quality of the materials, I’ve been able to move it without any damage because I took the time to assemble it properly. I’ve seen people assemble cabinets for clients and not level them and they just don’t hold up over time.
Currently, it’s overcrowded (see photo below) and I probably exceeded the weight limits with two small UPSs, two Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, Firewall, Controller, switches, Network Video Recorder (NVR), extra shelves and a power strip (keyboard, mouse and monitor on top). I’ve had to remove patch panels so I could add extra shelves to add more equipment and realized I need more room.
I’m looking to expand my home network, centralize more of my equipment and that means either a second rack or buying a larger rack.
I’ve chosen to search for a larger rack 5’ – 6’ (37U – 42U) and I keep coming back to Navepoint because they make quality products that are built to last!
Going from a 9U to a 37U or 42U is a big jump but, I’ve seen how quickly (7 years) my home network has grown and I want to keep some of my network and testing equipment within the cabinet to centralize my equipment so I don’t have look all over the house for testers, crimpers, misc. wall plates, etc.
A 9U rack has a lot of room and it’s a GREAT option for most home networking enthusiasts. I couldn’t be more pleased with the value I’ve received from Navepoint.
Unless you have a LOT of equipment to place in your server rack, the Navepoint 9U Deluxe IT Wallmount Cabinet Enclosure with 19-Inch Server Network Rack and Locking doors is a GREAT option.
I want to share my opinion because this has been such a great product for the price I want others to know so they can benefit from a product that’s seen a lot of use over several years and still delivers value.
Navepoint set the bar heigh so as I search for a larger server cabinet, I’m finding it hard to find another unit built so well for a comparable price.
I hope you find this review helpful.
